Our Rabbi

Rabbi Edie Yakutis joined Temple Beth El in Muncie after her ordination from Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, OH in May, 2023.

She is a life-long learner who thrives in connecting with and learning from individuals. She finds joy in helping folks feel like they belong, wherever their feet are on the path of a Jewish journey.

She serves Temple Beth El in Muncie 2 weekends a month (Thursday-Monday). When Rabbi Yakutis is not leading services or teaching in Muncie, you’ll usually find her doing something outside – walking her dog on the greenway, hiking or cycling.

When Rabbi Yakutis is not in residence in Muncie, she’s based in Cincinnati, where she works as a chaplain with the Lindner Center of Hope, a behavioral health facility in Cincinnati.

Prior to entering seminary, she worked with Microsoft Corporation for 23 years serving in management and individual-contributor capacities. Before moving to Cincinnati and applying to HUC-JIR, Rabbi Yakutis and her spouse were one of the 12 founding families of Temple Solel, in Fort Mill, SC, where she served as lay leader. It was that experience that put her feet on the path of becoming a rabbi.
